Kandi’s Kritters is the love of Kandia and Michael Hoyt. We have lived in Apple Valley, California since 1978 on a 12.5 acre mini-ranch. We have always had a variety of animals and since 1994 have raised West Highland White Terriers. In the past we have raised Shih Tzu and Miniature Schnauzers. After Mike bought Kandia her first Westie in 1993, there has been no turning back. Westies have been the love of our lives since that time. Kandia’s parents raised and showed dogs when she was a child, which instilled in her the love of animals and especially dogs. Kandia is the health expert, the groomer and the expertise. Mike is the handyman, kennel fabricator and maintenance guy. He even installed automatic controls for both heating and cooling in the kennel building. Kandia has a calming affect with animals and is always nursing some wild critter back to health.
 

         Even though we don’t show our Westies, we are always striving to breed puppies that are of the best quality AKC standards. We love our Westies and consider all of them as family. We even converted the closet in the spare bedroom to be a whelping pen. It has a doggy door to an outside kennel and a comfortable area for the new mom and allows Kandia to sleep near the expectant mom.
